Our Bhutan trek was well organized.
Norbu, the guide was very alert and made changes to our itinerary where relevant. At Takshang, we were glad that there was no need to track all the way back to the cafeteria for lunch as Ta Gay had packed rice for us and we were hungry after the tour of the monastery.
All the suggestions made throughout the trip were appropriate. In addition, there was ample time for us to explore places and take photographs.
Samtengang Trek is a very interesting trek as it provided us with many opportunities to learn about Bhutan’s way of life in the farms and to meet many children and students. All the people were friendly and always willing to share about their daily routines. It was nice to experience 3 different campsites in 1 one trek. The final night amidst the pine trees was fun.
Bumdrak Trek is an easy trek despite the higher altitude. It was apt to do it after Samtengang Trek and on the last days of our trip after we have acclimatized. The trek was interesting with different vegetation and the sky was breathtaking at sunrise, sunset and night with bright stars. The duration of the trek is just right.
The staff was wonderful. Norbu, the driver and the trek staff were attentive, cheerful and displayed initiative throughout the trip. They extended a helping hand to us whenever there were difficult or muddy parts along the way. The staff was always punctual. Norbu is very knowledgeable and patient with our questions.
We had a chance to savour a variety of Bhutanese food served in hotels, a farmhouse and Sonam’s house. We also had good pizzas and pastas. You must inform Ta Gay that his food at the campsite was just as tasty if not better than the Bhutanese set served in Uma Paro restaurant. Thank you for arranging such an experienced chef to cook for us.
We were definitely pampered at the campsite. The mattress, 2 blankets, good quality sleeping bag and a hot water bottle made sleeping in the tent warm and cosy. We were satisfied with the rooms as they were spacious and clean. The rooms in Punatsangchku Cottages and Tashi Namgay Resort Paro had beautiful views.
Yes, we will travel with Divine International again to other places like India, Kashmir & Sri Lanka.
