Shivapuri is the second highest peak among the hills surrounding the Kathmandu Valley. It is 2732m at its peak with numerous sharp ridges radiating to all sides. Situated towards the north of the Kathmandu Valley, due to its strategic location and convenience, Shivapuri was proclaimed as a watershed area supplying more than a million liters of natural spring water to the city. The highest point of the ridge, at 2732m provides stunning views of the city and its outskirts. Much of the trek is made through unspoiled old growth forests of oak, rhododendron and beech. Spotted deers, monkeys and jackals are seen along the trail. The trek goes through medieval villages, rice fields, terrace hills and magnificent view points. This easy walk offers a rich insight into the lives, history, culture and religion, together with the daily toil in the fields of its inhabitants. This is an easy route for people wanting to hike around the Kathmandu Valley.

Arrive Kathmandu
Upon arrival, meet and transfer to hotel. Check in & trek briefing. Late afternoon leisure walk in Thamel, a popular tourist district in Kathmandu Valley and a bustling bazaar which offers a glimpse of Nepal’s vibrant ethnic culture.

Kathmandu – Sundraijal – Chisapani
After breakfast drive to trek starting point Sundarijal. The trek will be gradual uphill passing by local village about 2 hrs, than gradual flat though the another 1.5 hrs, before we reach our lunch point. After lunch continue trek another 2.5 hrs to Chisapani. Check in guest house. Relax and enjoy the mountain views and village. Overnight at lodge

Chisapani – Jhuly
After breakfast start trek. The trail will be gradual flat through the village and jungle till the Jhuly, it takes about 4 hrs. Upon you will have lunch and some rest. Late afternoon short walk to the hill to catch the sunset. Evening dinner. Overnight at lodge.

Jhulay – Chauki Banjang – Nagarkot
After breakfast start trek. The trail will be gradual down and flat pass by some local village. You will able to see more local life style and domestic animals. Simple lunch on the way. After lunch your trail will be slightly uphill till the end point of trek. Upon reaching Nagarkot check in Resort. Some leisure time to relax and enjoy the view. Evening dinner. Overnight at Resort.

Nagarkot
Awake in the morning to the cold but stunningly spectacular sunrise over Nagarkot Hill. The first ray of the sun firing the peak glimmering red, slowly lighting the Himalaya range. Mt Everest range in the far east and Langtang and the Dhaulagiri peak in the west.
After breakfast, enjoy a short drive to view tower where you can see the close mountain views. After that back to resort for Lunch.
After lunch guided tour around the Tamang Village and witness the local lifestyle and culture. The Tamang are one of the several ethnic groups living in Nepal and the Himalayan region of India descended from Tibeto-Burman origins. They are also one of the oldest groups to inhabit Nepal.Late afternoon sunset view tour. Evening dinner. Overnight at Resort.

Nagarkot – Kathmandu
After breakfast, visit Kathmandu Durbar Square (Old Royal Palace) and visit the Kumari Ghar where the goddess Kumari resides. This complex of palaces, courtyards and temples like Hanumandhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar (Abode of the Living Goddess), Taleju temple, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla Kings of Kathmandu.
After lunch, visit Bouddhanath Stupa,one of the world’s largest Stupa built in the fifth century AD.Afternoon explore Asan Tol. It is one of the most well-known historical locations in the city and is famed for its bazaar, festival calendar and strategic location. The bazaar attracts shoppers from all over Kathmandu because of the tremendous variety of merchandise sold here, ranging from foodstuffs, spices and textiles to electronics and bullion. Asan is also one of the popular tourist spots in the city because of its architectural sights and charming ambiance.

After breakfast transfer to airport for departure.
