School Trips to Nepal 2010

Singapore Institute of Management
Nepal CIP & Whitewater Rafting, Dec 2010
The group recently returned from its 2nd Nepal internationalization trip before Christmas. Working hand in hand with the local professionals, the group installed some sturdy fencing around their adopted village school compound. Our students planned their own teaching program aimed to improve their English. They also shared with the village teachers on teaching methods.

Hwa Chong Institution (College Section)
Nepal CIP, Nov & Dec 2010
As a continuous effort to do their part for the rural Nepalese in the last 3 years, the college sent two batches of students who completed a spanking classroom overlooking the Himalayan range for their adopted village school. Everyone put in their best – from the flooring to the walls to the roof, and the teamwork was commendable, with results to show.

Everest Base Camp Expedition, Nov 2010
An inaugural Nepal expedition for the school, a group of 13 teachers and students attempted the famed EBC at 5360m. All reached the base camp in exhilaration and of course, great sense of achievement.

Anglo Chinese School (Barker Road)
Nepal Shivapuri Trek, Oct 2010
Our team planned a 6 day camping trek for the principal and teachers around Shivapuri. The trek was refreshing for the first timers to Nepal. We hope to embark on a new CIP project that can greatly benefit the students’ learning experience and the local villagers.

Chung Cheng High School Yishun
Nepal Ghorepani/Poonhill Trek & CIP, Dec 2010
Traveling with Divine for the 3rd time, the group went on the longest trip for 14 days conquering Poonhill and spending a week for CIP at the village. For most participants, the sunrise at Poonhill was unforgettable (after all that hard work!) and the chance gain insight into rural Nepalese lifestyle is priceless.

Naval Base Sec School
Nepal Ghorepani/Poonhill Trek & CIP, Oct 2010
As a first trip for the school, we recommended Ghorepani Poonhill Trek for the students and teachers. The sunrise view at Poonhill never fails to mezmerise everyone who made it to the top. Even though it is classified as a beginners’ trek, the students learnt much about their own physical ability, endurance level and perserverence. Their CIP experience taught them to be humble and learn to serve.

Kent Ridge Secondary School
Nepal Dhulikhel Trek & CIP, Nov 2010
Travelling with Divine for the 3rd time with the same program, the group trekked 1 day from Dhulikhel to Nagarkot before starting their CIP. They laid piping for a new water facility and built a new handwashing area in the school compound. As usual, the students learnt a traditional Nepali dance and put up an impressive performance as a farewell item before they said goodbye to their new friends.
