Our school trips to Nepal are specifically tailored to your learning requirements, whether you’re travelling for a specific topic or looking for something with cross curricula value.
The towering Himalaya; home to the highest peaks on the planet, thundering rivers and ancient glaciers and medieval Kathmandu whose very name evokes excitement and mystery. Both are mainstays of any school trip to Nepal. This charming country is awash with time worn temples; rich in scenic splendour and cultural treasures; certain to ignite interest, inspire, educate and engage your pupils.
As a school trip destination, Nepal makes for fascinating study. Its elevation ranging from 60m to 8848m (the summit of Everest being the highest point on Earth) and geographical position mean that climatic conditions in the space of less than 150km ranges from Arctic to sub-tropical, this varied landscape feeding a diverse natural world. There aren’t many countries where pupils can see glaciers and safari through jungle!
Introduce your students first hand to the humbling, awesome power of nature with a fully supported trek in the Himalayan foothills, then travel to remote villages such as Nagarkot or Dhulikhel and witness daily lives in traditional Newari and Tamang villages. Head out on foot into the surrounding area; meeting the local villagers and their children and perhaps visiting a local school.
Walk in the Everest region, discovering the Sherpa ‘capital’ of Namche Bazaar. White water raft the rapids of the Trisuli or Seti Rivers and head down to the jungles of Chitwan, where an elephant back safari gives a fantastic opportunity to spot rhino in the long grasses, while a river journey by dug out canoe often reveals crocodiles basking on the banks.
Where ever your group travels in Nepal, colourful, billowing prayer flags sending blessings across the land are a common site throughout the country, adorning the tops of Buddhist stupas, strung across mountain passes and from building to building, a constant reminder of the strength of faith in this beautiful region.
All our school tours to Nepal are accompanied throughout by an English speaking local group leader who will meet you at the airport and be with you until you depart. The group leader will act as your guide, interpreter and general facilitator throughout your trip.
