Our school trips to Sri Lanka are specifically tailored to your learning requirements, whether you’re travelling for a specific topic or looking for something with cross curricula value.

The teardrop island of Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) is a magical place for an educational tour. It is a country with an impressive history and an interesting culture. Here school groups can explore ruined cities; extraordinary monuments and rock-top forts; venture into dense jungle hiding ruins running with monkeys and encounter elephants. Visit a working tea plantation, see local fisherman bringing in their morning catch and spend time at an on going conservation project. A school trip to Sri Lanka will have something for every subject and never fails to enchant and fascinate.

This cultural crossroads sits in the Indian Ocean, on the old sea route to the East, a position whose legacy is evident for all to see; from the Muslim fishing villages which saw the passing of early Arab traders, to the several common surnames which tell of Portuguese occupation and the neat hill villages left by the British.

A predominantly Buddhist country, a visit to the religion’s holiest shrine the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy is a must, as is a visit to the ancient ruins and giant Buddha statues at Polonnaruwa. Nearby lays Sigiriya Rock where a climb to the summit gives spectacular views across the countryside, along with a chance to explore the ruins.

All our school tours to Sri Lanka are accompanied throughout by an English speaking local group leader who will meet you at the airport and be with you until you depart. The group leader will act as your guide, interpreter and general facilitator throughout your trip.
