10 Days Glimpse of Everest Foothill Trek
This trek, although relatively easy compared to some of other treks, takes you up high along trails to Tengboche Monastery (3850m). This is a short trek but very scenic trek offers really superb view of the world’s highest peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam and other many snowy peaks. It is best suited for those who do not have enough time for longer treks into the high mountains.

The Everest foothill trek, although relatively easy compared to some of other treks, takes you up high along trails to Tengboche Monastery (3850m). This is a short trek but very scenic trek offers really superb view of the world’s highest peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam and other many snowy peaks.. We fly from Kathmandu to Lukla airstrip in the Khumbu region and trek up to Namche Bazaar and Tengboche (famous for its monastery)This trek is a great introduction to Sherpa country and its culture with great mountain views, a very popular destination for first time trekkers in Nepal. This trek is best suited for those who do not have enough time for longer treks into the high mountains.

Kathmandu
Upon arrival, meet and transfer to hotel. Check in & trek briefing. Late afternoon leisure walk in Thamel, a popular tourist district in Kathmandu Valley and a bustling bazaar which offers a glimpse of Nepal’s vibrant ethnic culture.

Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding
Early morning breakfast and transfer to airport and connect flight (30 min) to Lukla and meet up with rest of the trek crew. Start trek to Phakding. The trail will be gradual flat with up and down hill.

Phakding – Namche Bazaar
After breakfast start trek. The trail will be gradual flat till Monjo(2.5 hrs). After lunch, continue trek to Jorsale (40 min) and after crossing bridge the trail will be uphill all the way to Namche Bazaar. This will be the bit difficult part as it is up hill (3 hrs).

Namche Bazaar (Acclimatization Day)
After breakfast start short 1 hour hike to Shyangbuche(3833m). From this point you can see the Mt Everest and other mountains like Thamsherku and Ama Dablam. After that back to Namche Bazaar for lunch and explore the market, café or Sherpa Museum.

Namche – Tengboche
After breakfast start trek. Trail will be gradual flat till Sanasa. This is the easiest trekking part for 3 hours. Along the way you will have many chances to see Mt Everest, Thamserku, Ama Dablama and Lotse. After Sanasa trail will be downhill till Phunki Thanga. Lunch at Phunki Thanga. After lunch continue trek to Tengboche for 3 hours. Tengboche is the highlight of this trek. Tengboche offer that best view of Mt Everest and many more mountains. Tengboche has a famous Tengboche Monastery.

Tengboche – Jorsale
Early morning see the great view of Mt Everest, Lotse and many more. After breakfast start back trek to Jorsale. The early part of the trail will be downhill all the way to Phungi Thanga after that uphill trek all the way to Sanasa. You will have lunch at Sanasa. After lunch the trail will be gradual till Namche, after that downhill all the way to Jorsale.

Jorsale – Lukla
After breakfast trek back to Lukla – total trek will be about 6 hrs. Upon arrival check in Lodge. Afternoon walking tour around Lukla bazaar. Evening dinner. Today will be the last of the trekking. After dinner short farewell with trekking crew.

Lukla – Kathmandu
After breakfast take a short flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival meet and transfer to hotel and rest and relax.

Kathmandu (Buffer Day)
After breakfast city tour visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and if you are lucky, you will get a glimpse of the famous Kumari, the world’s only living Goddess. After lunch, visit Bouddhanath Stupa,one of the world’s largest Stupa built in the fifth century AD. Late afternoon explore Asan Tol, the colourful local market area and shopping.
An Important Note:
All our itineraries for the Everest region include one buffer day at the end of the trip. This is because often the Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flight gets delayed by a few hours or may even be cancelled for one, two, or more days due to unfavourable weather conditions even in the best seasons. We will try our best to arrange the next flight for you. We also organize Helicopter rescue in such conditions, if it is available and upon request by clients. In event of flight delay, the program for this day will be as adjusted accordingly from the time you arrive Kathmandu.In case the flight delay/cancellation happens at the start of trip and it goes so long that it disturbs your onward travel schedule, we will provide you an alternative trek in other region.
