8 Days Nepal Ghandrung Trek

Ghandrung trek is a short trek suitable for children as there are no long walking days and high altitudes plus there is always plenty to see. The trail passes through fascinating traditional Gurung villages at Dhampus & Ghandrung; a nice opportunity to witness the culture and tradition of Nepalese countryside. This trek provides breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhare and Hiunchuli.

Arrive Kathmandu
Upon arrival, meet and transfer to hotel. Check in & trek briefing. Late afternoon leisure walk in Thamel, a popular tourist district in Kathmandu Valley and a bustling bazaar which offers a glimpse of Nepal’s vibrant ethnic culture.

Kathmandu – Pokhara
After breakfast transfer to Pokhara. The Annapurna and the famous Machhapucchare (Commonly known as Fishtail mountain) tower over the tropical setting of Pokhara. Drive takes about 5 hours, lunch will be on the way. Upon arrival check-in to hotel. Late afternoon an hour leisure boating at scenic Lake Fewa and visit Barahi Temple in the middle of the lake. After that free time to enjoy walking around Lakeside and shopping.

Pokhara – Phedi – Pothana
After breakfast drive to Phedi about 45 mins and start trek for 3 hrs. You will ascend stone-cut steps made by ancients of old to access villages from one to another. As you climb higher, the panoramic view of villages dots the land below till Dhampus. After lunch continue trek to Pothana (2 hrs).

Pothana – Landrung
Today the trail continues to ascend, albeit more gently, through fine forest of oak and rhododendron till Deurali (2555 m). After that trek down to Tolkha village. You will have lunch at Tolkha. After lunch the trek will be gradual flat all the way to Landrung.

Landrung – Ghandrung
Early part of the trek will be downhill about 1 hr. After that cross the bridge and uphill all the way to Ghandrung, Check in lodge and lunch. Afternoon tour around the Ghandrung Village. You will able to see the Annapurna range and Fishtail mountain range around you.

Ghandrung – Birethanti – Pokhara
The trail will be gradual downhill. Lunch at Birethanti and take the transport back to Pokhara. Upon arrival check-in hotel. Late afternoon walking around the lake side bazaar with some shopping

Pokhara – Kathmandu
After breakfast transfer to airport and connect domestic flight (25 mins) to Kathmandu. Upon arrival transfer to hotel for check in and lunch. After lunch city tour visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and if you are lucky, you will get a glimpse of the famous Kumari, the world’s only living Goddess.
Afternoon explore Asan Tol. It is one of the most well-known historical locations in the city and is famed for its bazaar, festival calendar and strategic location. The bazaar attracts shoppers from all over Kathmandu because of the tremendous variety of merchandise sold here, ranging from foodstuffs, spices and textiles to electronics and bullion. Asan is also one of the popular tourist spots in the city because of its architectural sights and charming ambiance.

Kathmandu – Departure
After breakfast, transfer to airport for departure.
